RION Megawatt-Class Pitch Slip Rings Operational Overseas


RION’s independently developed megawatt-class wind turbine pitch slip rings have been officially deployed and put into stable operation at a large-scale onshore wind farm in Europe. Fully compatible with the full range of 1.25MW to 12.5MW wind turbine generators on site, these slip rings feature robust build quality and customized adaptation capabilities, perfectly suited for the harsh and complex outdoor operating and maintenance conditions of overseas wind power projects. They reliably deliver core guarantee for power supply and signal transmission for wind turbine pitch control systems on a sustained basis.

As a core critical component of wind turbine pitch control systems, the wind turbine pitch slip ring operates on the precision dynamic contact structure between stator brushes and rotor conductive rings. It enables the continuous and uninterrupted transmission of high-power power supply, precise control commands and various bus data signals between the rotating and stationary components of wind turbines. The slip ring fundamentally eliminates common operational faults such as cable twisting and signal interruption during long-term wind turbine operation, ensures accurate and efficient execution of wind turbine pitch adjustment movements, and directly determines the overall operational stability, power generation efficiency and long-term safe maintenance performance of each wind turbine unit.

This series of wind turbine pitch slip rings adopts gold alloy precious metal contact materials as the core raw materials and is manufactured with military-grade electroplating technology. Each ring channel is designed with a dedicated multi-contact structure, delivering low contact resistance and long-lasting stable contact performance during operation. The product boasts comprehensive superior performance including low-temperature resistance, high humidity resistance, sand and wind resistance, strong corrosion resistance, impact resistance and vibration resistance, with an industry-leading IP65 protection rating. It achieves a service life of 20 years or hundreds of millions of rotations with long-term maintenance-free operation. The equipment supports the transmission of mainstream industrial bus data protocols such as RS485, CAN-BUS, PROFIBUS and Ethernet, enabling the synchronous transmission of high-voltage heavy current and low-voltage control signals.
